Printers and Printing

There are three printers in 70 Amherst – two black-and-white laser printers and one color printer. The color printer (Senior-Color.mit.edu) and one of the black-and-white laser printers (Senior-p.mit.edu) are conveniently located on the first floor (E2-100 Lobby). The other black-and-white laser printer is located in the Study 040 in the basement. Check here for a complete list of printer locations over the campus!

The use of MobilePrint for Touchless Printing Release is recommended. The printers are accessible through MIT’s regular printing queues. Staples, extra paper, and other supplies are conveniently located nearby. To be able to print your files, ensure that you’re connected to “MIT Secure” wi-fi and installed the Pharos “Popup” client. You can refer to MIT’s IS&T page for instructions about installation.

You can use Athena Print Center (MobilePrint) to upload documents. You can then release the jobs to any of the Pharos printers without physical contact. It has a user-friendly interface to preview, delete, and manage options for print jobs. Releasing print jobs via Athena Print Center (MobilePrint) instead of using your MIT ID card is recommended for all Pharos devices, as it reduces physical contact. Newer Pharos printers, including all color devices in residential buildings, do not have ID card readers attached.Color Printer
